Sable – 500 plants (June-bearing)

Early-Season, Hardy, Productive, and Full of Flavour

Developed by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Sable is an early-season (June-bearing) variety that combines the best traits of its parents, Veestar and Cavendish. It produces large, bright red berries that are medium firm, juicy, and flavourful, making it an excellent choice for fresh market sales and U-pick operations. The plants are vigorous, winter-hardy, and highly productive, performing well across prairie growing conditions. Sable also shows resistance to Red Stele Root Rot (RSR), ensuring reliable performance even in wetter soils. With its early ripening, strong yields, and consistently good flavour, Sable offers growers a dependable, Canadian-bred variety that starts the season on a high note.
